The Forestry Extension Institute serves as Norway’s central organization for forestry education, focusing on competence development in forest management, land resources, and industry innovation. With the increasing need for practical, hands-on training in forestry operations, they set out to find a solution that could make learning more accessible, engaging, and effective. Their journey led them to Fynd Reality and Fynd CORE.
The Challenge: Modernizing Forestry Training
Traditional forestry training often requires access to expensive equipment, real-world logging sites, and in-person instruction. While these methods are effective, they come with limitations—high costs, logistical challenges, and safety risks. The Forestry Extension Institute wanted a way to provide high-quality training that was flexible, scalable, and available anytime, anywhere
-We work with training programs for forestry machine operators, forest planning, and operational forestry in general. Knowledge is the key to further developing the forestry industry for the benefit of society. Our goal is to ensure that operational forestry has the necessary tools to support a diverse and sustainable approach to forestry.

Immersive Training with Fynd CORE
By adopting Fynd CORE, The Forestry Extension Institute has developed an innovative training program where users can practice forestry procedures in virtual environments. The goal was to allow students to observe and assess forest management practices and understand the impact of logging on waterways and other environmental factors. Making choices within the scenarios allows the students to visualize the consequences with different procedures.
A Future of Smarter Forestry Training
The Forestry Extension Institute’ use of Fynd CORE is just the beginning. As technology evolves, so do the possibilities for forestry training. By embracing immersive learning, they are ensuring that Norway’s forestry professionals are better prepared, more skilled, and ready for the future.
