AR/VR Students from Inland University Get an Inside Look at Fynd Reality

At Fynd Reality, we believe in fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge with the next generation of AR and VR professionals. Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality program at Inland University for a behind-the-scenes visit. The day was filled with curiosity, insights, and inspiring conversations that left a lasting impression on both the students and our team.

Learning from the real-world perspective

The students, led by their Professor, Christopher J. McNeill had the opportunity to explore our production pipeline and see how we approach VR and AR development from concept to execution. Their professor emphasized how valuable it was to witness our organizational workflow firsthand:

"To see how you set up your production pipeline, your actual developmental path, and where the assets are—how they’re developed on a timeline—shows just how easily the workflow can be managed when everyone knows the structure. The functionality of the your business, the communication flow, and the quality of the work being done were inspiring to see."

This real-world perspective is essential for the Inland University course, which focuses on crafting a studio-like experience for their students. By mirroring Fynd Reality’s structured workflow, they aim to prepare their students for the demands of the industry, equipping them with practical skills and insights into client expectations, deadlines, and asset management.

Inspiration for Future Creators

The students, eager to soak up as much knowledge as possible, asked good questions about every aspect of our work—from 3D modeling and texturing to programming, portfolio development, and client management. Hearing from our team and our CTO, Kristine Kvam, gave them valuable insight into the day-to-day workings of Fynd Reality.

One student remarked:

"The visit here has been amazing. We got to see how everything works and picked up so many tips and tricks. We’re leaving with bigger, better brains!"

Another student reflected on how inspiring it was to see a small yet impactful business like Fynd Reality thriving in the B2B space:

"It’s really cool to see how important VR and AR are on the business-to-business side of things. It’s inspiring to see how well you’re doing in this area, especially as the consumer side faces challenges."

For many of the students, the visit solidified their passion for working in the VR/AR industry. Some are eager to pursue careers in gaming, while others are drawn to the opportunities in B2B and specialized fields within VR and AR development.

Building the Future Together

At Fynd Reality, we’re committed to not only shaping the future of VR and AR but also inspiring the minds that will drive the industry forward. Hearing the students’ enthusiasm and their plans to integrate what they learned into their upcoming projects was rewarding. As their professor summed up:

"We’re using this experience as a platform. The visit has given us clear examples of how a professional business like Fynd Reality operates, and we’ll be incorporating that into our own projects over the next four months."

Your curiosity and passion are exactly what the VR and AR industries need. We’re excited to see where your journeys take you and hope to collaborate again in the future.
